Love Connections found at City shelter
19 Animals found their forever families that at the recent Meet Your Match event at Chicago Animal Care and Control! Hundreds more loving dogs and kitties at the shelter are waiting for their own lucky breaks. Visit the shelter at 28th and S. Western Avenue between Noon and 7 pm any day of the week to find your special love.
Radio personality and pet expert Steve Dale did a live 1/2 hour broadcast on WGN the morning of the “Meet Your Match” event. He’s shown here in the company of Friends board member, Dee, and shelter cutie, Lulu.

Volunteer Jenny was on duty selling goodies to fund leashes and detergent, always welcome donations at the shelter.
Volunteers Anita and Cindy are specifically trained to screen potential adopters and help fill out the paperwork necessary for them to be approved as pet parents.
This visitor asked the folks from the visiting Chicago Herpetological Society if he could hold a snake to help him overcome his fear of them. Looks like it worked! (Yes, snakes, lizards, turtles and other mysterious creatures are among the animals impounded at the city shelter. They are turned over quickly to rescues like the Chicago Herpetological Society and Flint Creek Wildlife Sanctuary who can provide proper care.)
She hadn’t met her match by the end of the day, but we’re pretty sure this little darling will find her forever family very quickly.
