Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control (“FCACC,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed
to protecting the privacy of our donors, adopters, volunteers, website visitors, and
supporters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal
information.

1. Information FCACC Collects

• Donations via Network for Good:
  
  When you donate through Network for Good, you may provide:
  • Name and email address (required).
  • Mailing address (optional).
  • Donation amount and method of payment (credit card or PayPal).
  • Optional personal message to FCACC.
  • If you choose to send an acknowledgment to another person, their contact information (address or email).
    
    Please Note: FCACC does not have access to your credit card number or full payment account details.
    
• Donor and Adoption Records:
  
  We maintain donor and adopter records in our donor relationship management system, DonorPerfect, which may include:
  • Name, email, mailing address, phone number.
  • Donation dates and amounts.
  • Adoption details and fees (for adopters).
    
• Other Sources:
  
  We may also collect information you provide directly to us via mail, email, phone, event registration, adoption forms, volunteer applications, or in person.
  
• Website and Cookies:
  
  Before the activation of our cookie consent plugin, FCACC did not intentionally collect information about Web site visitors or use tracking cookies. Our site runs on WordPress and may use third-party themes or plugins that can set cookies or collect technical data, such as:
  • IP address.

  • Pages visited and time spent on our site.

3. Who Has Access to Your Information

• Network for Good data: Data is accessed by FCACC officers and select staff members/volunteers through secure log-in; other account holders have access but do not regularly log in.
• DonorPerfect CRM: Primarily accessed by a FCACC officer and select staff/volunteers through secure log-in.
• Accounting Firm: Provided annually with donor name, contact information, donation amount, and date for audit and tax preparation.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share information
with trusted service providers (e.g., payment processors, CRM vendors, mailing
services) solely to help us operate our programs, provided they agree to maintain
as confidential the information.

5. Data Security

We use secure log-ins, password protection, and other reasonable
administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal
information. While we strive to protect your information, no method of
transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Your Choices

You may:

• Opt out of receiving communications by clicking the unsubscribe link in our
  emails or contacting us directly.
• Request to review, update, or delete your personal information, subject to
  legal and audit requirements.
• Manage your cookie preferences through our website’s consent banner.
