After Hours Crisis Care Program
Animal Care and Control agencies in cities like ours work hard to improve the lot of
animals who don’t have anyone else to see to their comfort and survival. In Chicago,
Friends of Animal Care and Control steps in to help.
Unfortunately, around-the-clock veterinary care isn’t in the city budget for all those who
need it. In fact, Chicago Animal Care and Control’s vet clinic is only open 1/3 of each
day, leaving a good many ill or injured animals with no one to look after them. Animals
previously have gone without relief from injuries or illness for up to 16 hours a day or
more.
FCACC was asked to provide medical care for city shelter animals after hours. During
the evening window when the shelter is officially closed but injured animals are still
arriving, Friends now sees that they get delivered to private clinics for urgent care.
Traffic accidents, abuse cases, and mishaps of all kinds bring animals to CACC. And
when it’s after hours, we get them the immediate treatment they need.

Of course, DONORS LIKE YOU make this happen. Friends could not do this
lifesaving work without the kindness and generosity of people like you. Visit our Donate
page for ways to donate.
Please note: After Hours Crisis Care is not available to private citizens, only to
orphaned animals in emergency circumstances.
